Text Box: We have successfully negotiated a land mark and unprecedented consultation process between Long Point and Tembec Inc.  The revolutionary process requires the Company to first apply to the First Nation for an endorsement certificate permitting operation's within traditional territory.  The consultation process itself is established by the First Nation and goes above and beyond existing government regulation.  If successful, the company receives a Certificate of Endorsement  certifying that it is in compliance with the First Nation.

We have successfully negotiated a Process Agreement between Quebec, and the Algonquin Coalition (Lac Simon First Nation and Long Point First Nation) which commits the parties to a process for negotiations leading to a Bi-Partite Relationship Agreement including the Coalition and Quebec, and a Tri-Partite Agreement including Canada, Quebec, and the Coalition. 

We successfully negotiated a “bridge” agreement between the Algonquin's of Long Point, Quebec, and the Quebec government which had a value of approximately one million dollars at signing, and relieved the tension of an escalating crisis between Long Point and Domtar by providing commitments and a venue to complete the negotiating of a long term agreement. We also developed a forestry business plan, conducted capacity building exercises, and negotiated further forestry opportunities in their region, 

We are initiating the processes associated to the Long Point First Nation and Quebec relationship. Currently we are negotiating a framework agreement which will lead to Resource Sectoral Agreements, 

We have developed and implemented a customized strategic and negotiating planning workshop for the Long Point First Nation, 

We successfully negotiated an Interim Agreement between the Long Point First Nation and the Province of Quebec ending an industry wide shutdown and conflict. The agreement committed the parties to processes for negotiating government to government formal agreements around Natural Resources and to interest based principles to guide their relationship respectively, 

At Long Point we have developed a land mark process for aboriginal communities to use the issuance of permits from their communities as a means of effective consultation. The permitting process sees the community issues a Permit to development proponents who complete a process of consultation with community.
